LAST HURRAHS— And a sweet victory for Ocean Bay Park’s “Boy’s of Summer” as they regained the World Championship Trophy at the Annual OBP-Seaview Homeowners Game. After seven innings of fast paced play the final score was 7 to 3. Images of the day: Chris Gurl pitching his heart out, Matt Fritz playing barefooted, Tara Siegel’s back flips, Eddie Micallef’s outstanding fielding, Jeffery Wein, Seaview’s designated runner on base, on base and on base again, Fred Newman, Joel Mandel, Richard Ellis, and other icons hitting and fielding as twenty year olds. And the traditional handshakes as the teams filed past each other for one last time this summer with hugs and goodwill jesting…Jay Mitchell, Martin Vohtra, Arnold Kotzen and Mickey Dubno reigned as the 2004 Labor Day Volley Ball Champs outlasting and outplaying all other teams on H Street…At the end of the Mixed Doubles Tournament, Rosa Koenig & Jeanne Barton were tied in the Woman’s Division and Neil Andon & Gene Raicovich in Men’s. In the playoff Rosa and Gene claimed the trophies…

AND MORE– Diane Sweeney and Ken Klein reinvented their “Purple Party.” The deck was strung with purple lights, purple drinks abounded and purple flashing necklaces distributed to all that came in obligatory purple attire for this purple fun evening…It was back-to-back parties that Saturday with Rita and Wally Butler jazzing up Erie Street with disco music AND a barbershop quartet…Cynthia and George Marks traditionally give an opulent Labor Day brunch and this year proved no exception…The “Oldies” Labor Day end of season send-off at the firehouse sold out… Marki and Steve Knopp brought back “traditions of ole,” serving bowls of Marki’s Chili and other yummy fare…Breaking with tradition, Stumbling Inn did not have an October Fest. Instead Frank Caraher and Jay Cahill tented the back deck and arranged tables for a small elegant dinner prepared by housemate Patti Loesch. A special “Thank You” for friends who have entertained the trio these many years…At the Fall Meeting of the Ocean Bay Park Association Neil Andon, President of the OBPA presented an astonished Lillian Laikind with a Movado Heart Pendant and framed OBP Homeowners map in appreciation of all she has done through the years for the Association and Ocean Bay Park...

SOCIETY NEWS– After many years of togetherness Sharon Gerson & Bob Farley married on 12/23 and Norma Raglin & Bernie Weil were wed on 1/6…Lorraine Murphy and Tony Correri wed this winter, too…Annelise and Ed Eschmann and their children Jack and Isabelle welcomed a new addition Benjamin Richard Eschmann (7lbs, 11oz) on 2/16/05…Ginny Horton is a great grandma for the fourth time. Sara and Mike Ferraro’s little girl Catherine and her husband Dion Sturtz twin girls (Madison and Taylor) arrived April 3rd…Danielle Paladino and Mark Hayes will walk down the aisle June 25th… Bonnie Errico and Mitch Lumagui’s have announced their big day will be November 26th…Emily Dennis and Mike Elliot expecting twins in August…Zack Bernstein will make his bar mitzvah on June 7th…Tristan Visitacion graduating the Fire Island School in June…David Sugerman has been accepted at Horace Mann…The 2005 season officially opened May 7th at Harry Hanbury’s Annual Kentucky Derby Do and the Fireman’s Spaghetti Dinner…
