Wondering what would happen if your ferry ticket blew away on the top deck of the ferry? Well, we asked FI Ferries President George Hafale. He said, “If the ferry attendent saw it we would try to compenate. But otherwise you are out of luck. Its as if it was a five dollar bill ” (or would that be a 7 dollar bill?)

OBA Mtg

The proverbial subjects were in full force at the annual OBA summer meeting this past Saturday: bikes, trash and loud drunks, sleeping drunks and littering drunks. One woman commented that the village is going down the tubes.

Well, Ira and I still love it here. Joe Loeffler responded that he lives here too and its not that bad!

We heard from Steve Einig that the new trustee was actually in the room...all he would say was it’s a man... hmmm..

But strangly missing were our furry friends the fawns. When Steve Hymes was asked why he has not written his usual five angry anti-deer letters to the editor by this time, he commented, “I guess I’m too old for that now.” Oh Steve, have you found deer dear?

Don’t miss the Golden Wagon Film Festval this weekend. Screenings and fun begin Friday night and last until Sunday. Hollywood star Celeste Holm, of “A Star is Born,” will be honored Saturday evening. Look for the new wine tasting of Long Island wines too.
