NEWS NEWS NEWS—Did you see the gorgeous diamond Jeanne Davey is sporting on her left hand? Don Eschmann popped “the question” on Friday and she said yes… Did you read the credits for The Devil Wears Prada? Film and music editor Amanda Pollack is none other than our Mandy Pollack… Did you get caught up in the Byrnes invasion that began Sunday 7/31? Robbie didn’t, she ran off to the city to avoid the 57 (and counting) Byrnes clan that occupied hotel rooms and six houses and partied day and night…

AND MORE NEWS—Marisa Stuben and Michael Mamarella announced their engagement last weekend…Laurie Horton had a boy on Tuesday, August 1st...Cody is his name…Lil Dreyfess took a misstep in the ocean and broke her ankle… Continuing in the family tradition, Chris and Maggie Horton joined the OBP fire dept. Grand-dad Terry was a past chief, Grandma Ginny a Commissioner, Uncle Mike is the current chief and dad Ed a Commissioner and past chief… The OBP fire department has a new truck —see separate story in this issue…

PARTY PARTY PARTY—Tis the year of Errico parties. Bob’s big birthday June bash. A two-for-one party for Bonnie & Kim’s birthdays, a dinner party at the Inn-Between for Betty and the annual Errico B’s party this weekend… Master craftsman Angelo Sakonas finally felt his recreation of “The Church” house complete. He and his bride, Roni Hewitt invited family and friends for cocktails and dinner (created by Melissa of the FI Hotel) to see the transformation. The house, a showcase of Angelo’s talents and Roni’s magnificent gardens, deserve a H&G spread…Pam Davis and Randi Ditata hosted an elegant party Saturday for Ocean Bay Park and Seaview friends. Guests enjoyed cocktail and dinner (catered by Rosa) with a combo softly entertaining in the background. The food was awesome, the candle-lit pool and decks magnificent with an abundance of flowers perfect for an Architectural Digest photo-op—a perfect night. “What a swell party that was”... It was another two-for-one party. This one given by Eileen Slobotkin for Bernie and Chloe to celebrate Chloe’s sixteenth and Bernie’s (dare I say?) on a paddle wheeler on the bay... The guests (dressed in black and white) from near and far included Chloe’s young friends and Bernie’s young-at-heart cronies, many from volleyball days. It was a beautiful night with a perfect sunset, a wonderful ride with non-stop dancing and a slide show of Bernie’s life produced by Chloe. “That’s what friends are for”…. On Saturday Audrey Micallef’s friends and family gathered to remember this fine lady. They toasted her memory with anecdotes, poems and a musical tribute. “That’s what friends are for”…
